Neymar’s sensational 222 million euros The transfer to PSG is expected to be confirmed tomorrow, as the Brazilian forward has been pictured signing a five-year contract.
The 25-year-old has been part of one of the most exciting transfer sagas of the summer – and it seems to be coming to an end, with Neymar putting pen to paper to complete his transfer to the French capital.
The deal raised many questions regarding the FFP rules, with La Liga even refusing to accept payment for Neymar’s buyout clause. The French Football League (LFP) issued a statement shortly after the rejection expressing dismay at the La Liga decision.
The statement, which was posted on the LFP official website, read: “The LFP expresses its surprise and does not understand La Liga’s refusal to simply accept the player Neymar buyout clause.
“The LFP asks La Liga to respect FIFA rules. The LFP supports Paris Saint-Germain and wants to see Neymar arrive in Ligue 1.”
But, despite that hiccups, chief football reporter for RMCSport, Mohamed Bouhafsi, tweeted to confirm that the ex-man from Santos has signed his contract worth up to £ 515,000 a week after tax. PSG have also tweeted “it’s coming” – surely in reference to Neymar, as the deal gets closer and closer.
With the French club severing the formidable MSN partnership, Barca will now seek to replace the 25-year-old with a number of top targets, including Philippe Coutinho of Liverpool and Ousmane Dembele of Borussia Dortmund.
